That’s exactly how we began writing fresh blank pages with the Titanic restaurant, located at Praia da Rocha in Portimão. A landmark for locals and a must-visit for holidaymakers.
With a story that dates back to 1993, not even the pandemic could stop the desire to breathe new life into the space — transforming its colder, more dated atmosphere into a bright, elegant restaurant with a romantic and intimate vibe. The Interdesign team from the Almancil (Algarve) store worked closely with the owner to bring a renewed sparkle to the restaurant-bar, a place that holds so many cherished memories for its customers.
The changes are visible right from the entrance, which now makes a striking impression. As we arrive at Titanic, we’re welcomed into a sleek, elegant space where the illuminated sign bearing the restaurant’s name takes centre stage — an invitation to discover the newly renovated interior.
The main dining areas mark the beginning of a new era for Titanic. Much has changed, yet the spirit and dedication of the team remain the same. The old wooden suspended ceiling was replaced with a fresh white finish, and the carpeted floor gave way to Carrara marble. Some walls were removed, while others were cladded to brighten the space, making it feel lighter, more refined, and up to date.
The old curtains, typical of the era, were replaced with flowing, modern fabrics that add lightness and elegance to the space.
The former furniture — which hosted countless families and friends — has been replaced by bold, custom-designed pieces that impress with their colours and design. The space is now defined by distinct zones: a wide dining area contrasts with a cosy corner of high tables and stools, ideal for a drink. All finishes and fabrics were carefully selected in collaboration with the owner to match his vision and expectations.
But the changes didn’t stop there. Some windows were replaced with illuminated panels and colourful canvas artworks, adding a dynamic play of light and colour to the restaurant. Every decorative element was thoughtfully chosen to echo the Titanic theme — from the captain’s room and wall map to details like a ship’s wheel — creating the perfect setting for a journey of flavours.
The bar area was also carefully redesigned with a modern, inviting concept, ideal for enjoying a drink with family and friends. Vertical metal rails define the bar space, giving it a distinct character without reducing overall room.
On the walls, soft pastel tones take prominence, bringing harmony and glamour. The contrast with the flooring and the bold furniture colours adds a unique energy to the refurbished Titanic, all while ensuring customer comfort.
